Scholarship Application

The Dafydd Lewis Trust provides equity and merit-based scholarships to young men who might not have otherwise received a University education due to the limited financial resources of their parents. Multiple scholarships are awarded every year for full-time degrees in most courses at any university in Victoria.

Eligibility Criteria for the Dafydd Lewis Scholarship

Only boys can apply for the Dafydd Lewis Scholarship.

A recipient of the scholarship must have attended a Victorian state school or college for at least five consecutive years. Exceptions may apply for holders of humanitarian visas. Please visit the FAQ page.

Applicants may not be older than 19 years of age (i.e. not yet 20) on 1st January 2011. Exceptions may apply for holders of humanitarian visas. Please visit the FAQ page.

All applicants will need to complete a means test. The combined gross income of the applicant's parents must be below $64,641 per annum (in 2010)

Students can intend to study any degree offered at any university in Victoria, with the exception of Arts, Education, Music & Theology, excepting those students who wish to undertake the Arts course for the purpose of gaining entry to a course which was previously offered by the institution as an undergraduate degree but is now only offered at postgraduate level.
