Fundraising Luncheon
A Mary Jane Lewis Scholarship Foundation fundraising luncheon was held at University House, University of Melbourne, on Monday 29 March 2010. Twenty seven guests were in attendance, including a number of prominent women from the Melbourne and Sydney business and philanthropic communities. The featured guest speaker was Ms Thérèse Rein.
The luncheon was co-hosted by Professor John Dewar, Provost University of Melbourne; Louise Adler AM, Publisher-in-Chief Melbourne University Press; and Dr Deborah Seifert, Chair Mary Jane Lewis Scholarship Foundation
The purpose of the luncheon was to raise awareness of the Mary Jane Lewis Scholarship Foundation
2010 Welcome Event
The Mary Jane Lewis Scholarship Trustees and current scholars celebrated the commencement of the new academic year at University House, the University of Melbourne. During the evening, new scholarship recipient Ms Meilun Ly was warmly welcomed.
2009 Annual Dinner
The Mary Jane Lewis Scholarship Trustees and current scholars celebrated the achievements of current and completing scholars at the annual dinner held in conjunction with the Dafydd Lewis Trust on 4 September 2009 at University House, the University of Melbourne.
During the evening, the four Mary Jane Lewis scholars completing their studies at the end of 2009 were recognised.
Scholar Madelaine Tesoriero spoke eloquently on behalf of the completing scholars, highlighting the many benefits she has experienced as a scholarship recipient and participant in the scholarship program.
The evening also featured engaging guest speaker Adam Smith, CEO of the Foundation for Young Australians.
